APFL Recognised in Legal 500 Asia-Pacific Rankings

APFL & Partners Vietnam has been recommended in the 2024 Legal 500 Asia-Pacific rankings.

Now in its 37th edition, the Legal 500 Asia Pacific is an annual independent insight into 25 jurisdictions across the region. The international rankings – covering both law firms and individual practitioners – are based on submissions from law firms themselves as well as thousands of interviews with General Counsels, legal professionals, and those who purchase legal services.

APFL was ranked in four practice areas: Dispute Resolution: Arbitration; Projects and Energy; Real Estate and Construction; and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) law.

Commenting on APFL’s Dispute Resolution: Arbitration practice, Legal 500 highlighted that:

Construction-related disputes form the cornerstone of the practice at APFL & Partners… with the group boasting a client roster of leading contractors, developers, and real estate investors operating both in Vietnam and surrounding jurisdictions. As such, the team is well-acquainted with cross-border arbitrations and has experience engaging with disputes subject to the conditions of a number of major international arbitration centres.

Turning to Projects & Energy, Legal 500 added:

“APFL & Partners… is an established adviser to a range of clients active in the energy and infrastructure sectors, demonstrating a high level of activity in the social and transport infrastructure spaces.

The team is able to cover the whole project piece, including the financing and due diligence work through to contract drafting, design, and construction… the firm possesses a strong M&A proficiency, most significantly epitomised by Nicolas Audierand real estate and property-focused Nicolas Picard.

Etienne Laumonier is a key figure in the group for his capital markets and banking knowledge, helping a number of clients structure their investments in greenfield ventures. Other key contacts include Antoine Logeay

Legal 500 also speaks highly of APFL’s work in Real Estate and Construction:

APFL & Partners… is highly active in the commercial real estate market, working with developers, property managers, and financial institutions on a range of legal issues pertaining retail constructions, residential buildings, hospitality centres, and inner-city renovations.

A key cornerstone feature of the practice is its development and regulatory strength, guiding clients through the planning and investment structuring aspect through to contract drafting, supplier and construction issues, and leasing agreements. Both Nicolas Audier and Etienne Laumonier boast extensive track records on M&A, banking, and capital markets, whereas Nicolas Picard is the group’s go-to for property development and construction queries. Antoine Logeay was promoted to partner in 2022.
